MTM was founded by Lucille Maddalena, Ed.D. while a graduate student at Rutgers University seeking an interdisciplinary doctorate in Labor Education and Human Communications. The first woman to enter the doctoral program in Labor Education, she recognized the need to incorporate the study of human dynamics into all initiatives supporting personal and organization development.  The then newly-established Department of Human Communications at Rutgers eventually came to support the Center for Organization Development and Leadership.

She describes her twenty years experience studying human behavior: “Retention and development of leaders through effective interpersonal relationships has been a vital part of my work with corporate clients.  I’ve consulted with more than 35 companies; one global pharmaceutical firm continually since 1985 where I have assisted in excess of 4,000 executives to successfully advance. I recently compiled these numbers and feel truly humbled by them. Each encounter with a talented business leader is unique.”

Guiding the growth of  MTM,  Dr. Maddalena works with a talented group of colleagues in the fields of psychology, training, management, sociology and science, to continue her efforts to pursue a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership learning.  The materials and services provided through MTM reflect that goal.

From rural New Jersey where she served for three terms as an elected official, Dr. Maddalena now lives at the Jersey Shore.  A graduate of three Universities, she practiced the martial art of jujitsu as a student until she began the study of yoga and for six years raced sled dogs in competition – which she claims is a source of her inspiration for her approach to communications and teamwork.
